The site where steamboats once docked, loaded cargo, and turned to return downstream to Caddo Lake, Shreveport, and beyond. Jefferson was once the largest inland port city in Texas. Currently pending restoration.

- Planters Bank BuildingBuilt in 1867 with fan-light arched entrances, an original cast-iron balcony, and an interior bank vault. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP #71000952) and a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark. A premier example of riverport commercial architecture from Jefferson's golden era.
- First Texas Artificial Gas PlantSite of the first artificial gas plant in the state of Texas — one of Jefferson's multiple 'firsts.' Gas lighting transformed Jefferson's homes and businesses during the steamboat boom.
- Vernon Dalhart BirthplaceBirthplace of Vernon Dalhart — the first country music artist to sell a million records (1924). Born Marion Try Slaughter in Jefferson, TX in 1883, he took the stage name from two nearby Texas towns.
- Jefferson Jimplecute Newspaper OfficeHistoric office of the Jefferson Jimplecute, one of the oldest newspapers in Texas. The unusual name is said to stand for 'Join Immediately My Plucky Little Confederate Thoroughbred Entirely.'
- Marion County CourthouseBuilt in 1912–1913 on the site of early mercantile buildings. Designated a State Antiquities Landmark (SAL), Recorded Texas Historic Landmark, and contributing property to the National Register Jefferson Historic District. Fully restored in 2021 through the Texas Historic Courthouse Preservation Program.
- Emmert-Dole HouseBuilt in 1868. Early home of Alice Emmert, Jefferson's first female school superintendent. Notably, Lady Bird Johnson (Claudia Taylor) boarded here in 1924–1926 while a student at Jefferson High School.
