Vernon Dalhart Birthplace
Birthplace of Vernon Dalhart — the first country music artist to sell a million records (1924). Born Marion Try Slaughter in Jefferson, TX in 1883, he took the stage name from two nearby Texas towns.

- Jefferson Jimplecute Newspaper OfficeHistoric office of the Jefferson Jimplecute, one of the oldest newspapers in Texas. The unusual name is said to stand for 'Join Immediately My Plucky Little Confederate Thoroughbred Entirely.'

- Hodge-Taylor House (Hodge Plantation)Historic plantation home located southwest of town near US-59 and TX-49. Added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1997 (NRHP #97000259). Represents the agricultural plantation economy that supported Jefferson's 19th-century river commerce.
- Jefferson Ordnance MagazineCivil War Confederate munitions magazine constructed in 1863 along Big Cypress Bayou. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP #95000102) and a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark. Exceptionally rare: one of only three surviving Confederate powder magazines in Texas and the South.
